I am a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health in South Dakota and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from South Dakota State University. My clinical background includes work at The Compass Center, where I supported survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as providing individual therapy at Luverne Counseling.  I am trained in Brainspotting, including the Digging Roots developmental trauma model, an approach that helps process trauma at a neurological level and can support deeper healing beyond traditional talk therapy.

My approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and a belief that meaningful healing happens when people feel safe, understood, and empowered in the counseling process. I provide a supportive, collaborative space where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and reconnect with their sense of worth.

I specialize in trauma therapy and have particular experience supporting survivors of family violence and sexual assault. My trauma-informed approach emphasizes safety, pacing, and empowerment, helping clients gently process difficult experiences and rebuild trust in themselves and others.

I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, offering an affirming space where clients can explore identity, relationships, and life transitions without judgment. My work focuses on supporting authenticity, strengthening self-understanding, and helping clients navigate the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals may face.

In addition, I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, and relationship concerns. Together we focus on building practical coping strategies, strengthening healthy boundaries, and developing patterns of thinking that support long-term emotional well-being.

I provide online counseling (telehealth services) for clients located in Minnesota and South Dakota, offering a confidential and supportive space where healing and growth can unfold.

  • Prior to joining Evenson Counseling, I worked at Luverne Counseling in Luverne, Minnesota, where I provided individual therapy to clients navigating a variety of concerns. I also have experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence through my work at The Compass Center, where I developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care. Earlier in my career, I worked as a case manager supporting children and young adults with intellectual disabilities and brain injuries. This experience strengthened my understanding of complex needs and reinforced my belief in meeting people with patience, respect, and a collaborative approach to care.
