ann adler, MS, NCC
I am a pre-licensed marriage and family therapist and professional counselor, working under the supervision of Dr. Lori Evenson. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling. I am currently working towards licensure in South Dakota as both an LMFT and an LPC.
I work with individuals to address a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and important life transitions. I help clients develop practical coping skills, strengthening resilience, and reconnecting with a more grounded sense of self. I bring specialized experience in trauma-informed care, particularly in supporting survivors of violence and sexual assault. I help survivors gently rebuild a sense of safety, empowerment, and trust at their own pace within a collaborative and respectful space.
A core part of my practice focuses on couples therapy for partners seeking to move beyond repetitive conflict and strengthen emotional connection. Using evidence-based approaches, including the Gottman Method, I help couples build healthier communication, deepen trust, and create more lasting, meaningful connection.
I am committed to fostering an inclusive, affirming environment where all identities are welcomed and respected. I have a particular passion for working with members of the LGBTQ2S+ community and individuals facing unique societal and systemic stressors. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your authentic self and feel empowered in your journey.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and relational. I believe healing happens through connection, and I view therapy as a partnership—walking alongside you rather than directing from a distance. My training in marriage and family therapy allows me to view individual concerns through the broader lens of relationships, family systems, and life context. Across all areas of my work, I aim to help clients find clarity and stability as they move into new chapters of their lives.
